Automated External Defibrillator course
The Automated External Defibrillator (AED) course is suitable for anyone who has an AED at their workplace or in their community and may be required to use it for someone in cardiac arrest.
The Automated External Defibrillator course includes theory, practical skills and discussion. The aim of the course is to equip you with the knowledge, skills and confidence to deliver first aid to someone who is in cardiac arrest.
Once completed the qualification will be valid for 1 year.
The curriculum for the Automated External Defibrillator course is shown below:
- What is first aid?
- Primary survey
- Recovery position
- Safe use of the automated external defibrillator
- Maintenance of an automated external defibrillator
