Carla Sowinski

Carla Sowinski is the founder of First Aid Confidence. Carla is a qualified first aid instructor who holds a First Aid at Work qualification and an IHCD BTEC Level 3 Award in Ambulance Driving and Ambulance Aid. Carla can provide regulated first aid training courses including Emergency First Aid at Work, First Aid at Work, Paediatric First Aid and Basic Life Support courses that include Anaphylaxis and Automated External Defibrillation training in addition to bespoke awareness sessions.

Teaching Qualifications

Carla has completed the HABC Level 3 Award in Education and Training (QCF), which covers the roles, responsibilities and relationships in education and training, how to plan and deliver inclusive teaching sessions and how to assess and give constructive feedback.


Carla has a passion for first aid and enjoys teaching others how to carry out basic skills in order to provide first aid and potentially save someone’s life.
Carla is committed to ensuring that every learner that attends a first aid training course with First Aid Confidence is given the chance to understand first aid and its importance. Carla strives to ensure that every learner will have the confidence to use their first aid knowledge and skills to assist someone if the need arises.

Knowledge and Experience

Carla’s previous role was as an Emergency Medical Technician with the ambulance service and she holds the qualification of IHCD BTEC Level 3 Award in Ambulance Driving and Ambulance Aid.
During her time in this role Carla attended many patients of all ages with a wide variety of medical and trauma related complaints. Carla has gained a vast amount of experience of dealing with real life emergencies and she has developed the necessary skills to make decisions and act quickly due to her knowledge of the theory behind medical and traumatic conditions.
