Terms and Conditions

When a group course or a place/s are booked on an open course this is a provisional booking. The full amount is payable once the invoice is received. The booking will be secured once full payment has been received.

A student will not receive a certificate until payment for their course has been received in full.

Invoices that are not paid in full will be subject to legal proceedings and an annual charge of interest at 15% to be accrued on a weekly basis.

If a booking is cancelled with 15 days or more notice then the amount paid shall be refunded in full.

If 8-14 days notice is provided then 50% of the amount will be refunded.

If 7 days or less notice is provided then no refund will be given.

Change of Course Date

The date of a group booking can be changed if it is possible for First Aid Confidence to deliver the course on an alternative date. 15 days or more notice must be given to change a course date. If the course cannot be delivered on an alternative date then it will be treated as a cancellation and the cancellation terms will apply.

In-House Courses

Courses held at business premises or alternative venues will be subject to a travel fee of 0.45p per mile.

First Aid at Work (FAW) Requalification

If a student does not have a valid FAW certificate or if the date of the FAW requalification course is more than 28 days after the expiry of the FAW certificate then the student will not be able to take part in the course and they will need to book and pay for the full FAW 3 day course.

Practical Assessment

If a student cannot take part in all of the practical elements of a course, then they are welcome to attend the course, however, they will not receive a certificate as they have not completed the full course.

If a student has a medical condition that means that they should not participate in the practical elements of a course, for example, a back injury, then the student should notify First Aid Confidence prior to the course date, preferably when booking the course.

First Aid Confidence recommends that a student does not take part in any activity that could aggravate an existing complaint and will not be held liable for any injury that occurs as a result.

Special Requirements

If a student has any special requirements then First Aid Confidence requests that this is discussed at the time of booking to allow time for the student to be accommodated. Any issues can be discussed by telephone or email if preferred.

First Aid Confidence expects every student to behave in a respectful manner throughout the duration of any course. Students should allow for everyone on the course to participate and have an equal opportunity to learn.

Students will be expected to adhere to the procedures in place in the event of an emergency. Course start times and break times should also be adhered to.

The following will not be tolerated:

  • Verbal and physical aggression
  • Discrimination, threatening and offensive behaviour
  • Inappropriate contact with the instructor or another learner
  • Damage or theft of the equipment provided to deliver the course or learners personal belongings

First Aid Confidence cannot be held responsible for students personal belongings whilst attending a course.

Cancellations/Changes made by First Aid Confidence

First Aid Confidence may, in extreme circumstances cancel a course or change the date, time or location of a course. In the event of a change First Aid Confidence will endeavour to limit any inconvenience that this may cause and all students will be notified as soon as possible.

If a course is cancelled then First Aid Confidence will make every effort to reschedule the course as soon as possible.

If a course cannot be rescheduled within a reasonable time period then a full refund will be given.
